Dr. Adrian Helmsley, a member of a global geophysical team investigating the effect on the earth of radiation from unprecedented solar storms, discovers that the earth's heart is warming . He cautioned U.S. President Thomas Wilson that the crust of the planet is becoming unstable and that without proper preparations for rescuing a small percent of the planet's population, the entire race is doomed. Meanwhile, writer Jackson Curtis stumbles on precisely the identical details.
