The Catholic School
In1975, three wealthy young men— former students at Rome's famous all-boys Catholic high school San Leone Magno— cruelly tortured, raped, and killed two young ladies. The episode, which became known as the Circeo massacre, stunned and fascinated the nation, revealing the violence and dark underbelly of the upper middle class at a time when the conventional structures of family and church were viewed as being in jeopardy.
