Marcus, a former Black Panther, comes to Philadelphia in 1976 and reunites with Pat, the widow of a Panther commander, after growing up in the 1960s. During his time spent with Pat's young daughter, Marcus works to overcome his own personal traumas. The neighborhood's ongoing racial and social tensions, as well as old foes and allies looking to settle old scores, get in the way of Marcus' good intentions.
