Even a scientist found in a mansion near a desert town arouses the feeling of the city's doctor when his laboratory assistant is found dead from an incident of acromegaly that took four days to develop. As a doctor explores, aided by the scientist assistant, they detect something far bigger and more than it should be, that, far worse, is currently devouring cattle - and even - humans - in large amounts.
