In April1942, the Japanese capture a group of American Army nurses and imprison them in a prisoner-of-war camp on the island of Bataan for three years. Lt Margaret Ann Jessup, the camp's head nurse, survives and subsequently testifies against the Japanese in front of a US Congressional subcommittee as a colonel.
