Absolution

At a Catholic young boys' school, prideful disciplinarian Dad Goddard subjugate his students with a strong hand. When among his teen fees admits to murder, the dogmatic yet deeply repressed Goddard finds his faith tested and also his life spiralling alarmingly uncontrollable. Additionally starring Billy Connolly (in his very first feature-film role), Dominic Guard, Kes star Dai Bradley, as well as the supreme Brian Glover, and composed by the excellent Anthony Shaffer, Absolution is one of British cinema's most underrated chillers, not least for an imposing main efficiency by Burton.
