In 1909, Denmark's Alabama Exploration led by Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen was trying to refute the USA' claim to North-Eastern Greenland, a case that was rooted in the concept that Greenland was separated right into 2 different parcels. Leaving their crew behind with the ship, Mikkelsen sleds across the ice with his unskilled staff member, Iver Iversen.
