For more than four decades, Argentina's Guillermo Vilas, a tennis great, has fought relentlessly for a revision of the official rankings (1973–78) in order to be recognized as the world's top player. Eduardo Puppo, a sports writer who adopted Vilas' claim, fought a major sports business for more than ten years to establish that Vilas was actually unfairly demoted from the top of global tennis.
