Old Eli moves to the farm of Waylon, a man whose dark past threatens to dazzle him along with his family. While he becomes interested with the forests, the family of eli works to restore the areas. Eli matches with the cryptic Amanda if she gives him an apple while around the farm. She extracts a promise from him in order to avert the heavy forests the next day. Reeling out of the violent encounter 1 night, with his father this promise breaks and finds her own body dangling from the tree.
