Eduardo Scarpetta, father of Eduardo De Filippo and a beloved Neapolitan actor and playwright, spent his entire life in the theater, finding success with classic pieces like "Miseria e nobiltà." However, everything he had achieved seemed to be lost in 1904 when he became embroiled in a bitter legal dispute that would restrict his right to free speech.
