The Long and the Short and the Tall
Adapted from a Willis Hall drama. In the jungle, a group of British soldiers are recording jungle noises and troop noises so that the recordings can be played back by other forces to deceive the enemy. The closer they approach to the base camp, the less radio reception they get, until the only channel they can plainly hear is a Japanese program. A Japanese camp is only 10 to 15 miles away, they now comprehend! "Non-hero" Private Bamforth's unruly and publicly stated "non-hero" demeanor only adds to the tense atmosphere (who holds an equal dislike for Bamforth). Taking a Japanese soldier prisoner exposes each individual for who he really is.
