Food and Drink
Drink and food is a British Tv Show on BBC Two. The first broadcast between 1982 and 2002, it was that the very first national television programme from the UK to pay the subject of beverage and food without recipe and cookery demonstrations.
Created in 1982 by BBC producer Henry Murray in an initial idea by Jancis Robinson, Fay Maschler and Paul Levy, the first series premiered by Simon Bates along with Gillian Miles, and introduced Jilly Goolden within her very first regular television looks as the programme's most wine expert. Russell Harty presented filmed location reports from excellent restaurants around Britain. This show featured the innovative concept of a small expanding audience of 20 those who were called"tasters and testers". The very first show broadcast in summer time but was instantly successful, drawing an average audience of 1.5 million a week, a superior evaluation for BBC 2 in the summertime in the 80s.
Later series have been presented chef Michael Barry and by Chris Kelly with Oz Clarke and wine specialists Jilly Goolden.
A panel game, refreshments Summer Quiz, aired in 1987 throughout the home show's summertime.
The theme music was by Simon May.
Food and Drink returned into BBC 2 on 4 February 2013 co-hosted by Kate Goodman and Michel Roux Jr.
