Orphaned as a kid, Liu E takes a trip to the resources Kaifeng, and later catches the eye of Zhao Heng. Though she was a concubine, Liu E was observant to state affairs, and also frequently discussed national politics with Zhao Heng. This practice proceeded when he came to be emperor in 997.
