Channel 4 broadcast the two-hour special in two parts on October 12th, 2008. There is a satirical nod to talent-based reality shows in the show's title and overall concept. Britain's Got Talent, Pop Idol, The X Factor and celebrity versions of already-existing events, such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Soapstar Superstar, Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice, are all incorporated into the show's title. On the show, Britain's Got the Pop Factor is also known as the title of a fictional series, where Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Strictly on Ice is the name of another fictitious talent show, to which the winner of Britain's Got the Pop Factor is automatically admitted. Fiddler on the Roof's "sequel," Celebrity Fiddler on the Roof, was announced after the credits rolled. The musical Fiddler on the Roof meets the British reality show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in the jungle.
