The League of Gentlemen
The League of Gentlemen is a British comedy television show which premiered on BBC Two in 1999. The series is located in Royston Vasey, a fictional town in Northern England predicated on Bacup, Lancashire. It follows the lives of lots of bizarre townspeople, most of whom have been played by three of their show's four writers--Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, and Reece Shearsmith--who, along with Jeremy Dyson, formed the League of Gentlemen humor troupe at 1995. The show aired for three string until 2002. A revival miniseries was broadcast in December 2017 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the group.
